Simeon Kohl, Chief Executive Officer

Simeon Kohl joined Performant in 2012, bring more than 20 years of executive management experience to our growth strategy. In 2016, he became the head of Performant’s Healthcare initiatives and facilitated the re-engineering of our organization to better facilitate Performant’s expansion into the commercial healthcare market where we offer program integrity services to drive value to our commercial clients. Healthcare is an exciting growth avenue for Performant, and our healthcare services and products are differentiated through our integrity-based analytics platform through which we design solutions unique to each of our clients. Mr. Kohl has an extensive background in healthcare cost containment, including providing strategic direction and operational oversight to numerous market disruptive initiatives. His goal is to achieve long-term growth by aligning Performant’s program integrity assets to best serve our public and private sector healthcare clients.

Rohit Ramchandani, Chief Financial Officer

With a background as a strategic and financial advisor for technology-driven financial services organizations, Rohit Ramchandani joined Performant in 2014 to help drive efficiencies and strengthen operational and financial results for Performant’s various end markets. As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Ramchandani is responsible for overseeing financial planning, as well as certain administrative functions for the company. Mr. Ramchandani works closely with the entire Performant leadership team to ensure financial goals are met and to foster an alignment in short, medium, and long-term strategic and financial priorities. Prior to joining Performant, he served at Financial Technology Partners, an investment bank specialized in technology enabled financial products and services. He holds both a BS in Business Administration and a BS in Mathematics/Economics from University of Southern California.

Melissa Christ, Chief People Officer

Melissa Christ has served as Performant's Chief People Officer since April 2022. In this newly created role, Ms. Christ works closely with the leadership team to build a culture at Performant that attracts, retains, and develops the finest talent to support the Company’s aggressive growth strategy. Prior to Performant, Ms. Christ has served in multiple senior leadership roles over the past 15 years, including a lengthy stint as Associate Vice President/Human Resources Director at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, where she was responsible for over 8,000 associates. Most recently, Ms. Christ served as Chief People Officer at Cor Partners, a 1,200-employee-strong parent company to a group of insurance service businesses in the commercial and personal insurance space.

Dr. Marlene Mullen-Clayton, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Mullen-Clayton is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine licensed to practice medicine in the United States. She has more than 20 years of practice experience and 12 years of experience performing audit and payment integrity reviews for Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care. Dr. Mullen-Clayton serves as a contract medical director for Performant supporting the CMS Region 1 RAC contract. She is a subject matter expert in health care quality, Medicare reimbursement and compliance, inpatient care management, interactions, and public relations with hospitals, commercial payers, and government agencies. Dr. Mullen-Clayton’s background and relevant experience includes contributing and developing strategic initiatives; coordinating, overseeing, and executing high-level client and interdepartmental interactions and presentations; and ongoing quality, policy, and process refinement, as well as client support, through audit activity and retrospective medical review. Prior to joining the Performant team, Dr. Mullen-Clayton served as Optum’s Executive Medical Director of the Strategic and Tactical Advocacy Team, coordinating ongoing quality, policy, and process refinement and client hospital support through audit activity and OIG investigations. She led large team of healthcare professionals performing case reviews; and through leadership and direct action, increased number of cases reviewed and improved appeal success rate. She also has expertise providing second level medical necessity review for client hospitals.

Christian Bass, Senior Vice President, Payment Integrity

Christian Bass has more than 20 years of executive management experience, including more than 12 years in the healthcare industry, providing technology solutions and services. He is an executive possessing a unique synthesis of expertise in business strategy and operational leadership with a focus on growth-staged organizations. Christian’s background and relevant experience include proven success working with executive teams to define, assess, and execute business strategy through new product development, strategic partnerships, and organizational alignment. He is skilled in managing a complex portfolio of efforts, prioritizing resource investments, and delivering strategic initiatives; and Christian’s successful entrepreneurial background lends a new perspective to enterprise, market, and product strategies while identifying creative solutions for seemingly intransigent operational challenges. His strong communication and interpersonal skills enable consistent formation of high-performing teams, development of engaged company cultures, and cultivation of strong client relationships.

Ted Doyle, Senior Vice President, Government Programs

Ted Doyle is a senior leader and respected subject matter expert with more than 40 years of experience in governmental and commercial healthcare programs concentrating on fraud, waste and abuse, including more than 20 years of experience serving as a Project Director for CMS and commercial health plans. He currently serves as Performant’s Senior Vice President, Government Sector, focusing on Performant’s relationship with federal and state government clients. Ted’s expertise also includes developing and implementing analytics, audit and recovery programs that significantly reduce healthcare costs and protect the integrity of payment systems for health plans. He is an Accredited Health Care Fraud Investigator by the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association, Certified Fraud Examiner for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and a Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator for the International Association of Special Investigation Units. Ted holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting from California State University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from University of Phoenix.

Michael Feid, Senior Vice President, Eligibility & Recovery

Mike serves as Performant’s Vice President, Eligibility & Recovery Services. He has a history of leading successful payment integrity programs for COB, MSP, data mining, and eligibility management. Mike has been instrumental in managing all aspects of COB revenue streams, including growth, operations, analytics, and product development. His teams have identified more than $400M in annual savings for more than 30 clients. Mike’s experience includes leveraging operational, process-oriented expertise to transform implementation and account management functions into accelerated growth and revenue while ensuring a positive client experience. Mike is a Gallop-certified Strengths Coach and a Six Sigma Green Belt. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Quantitative Methods from Illinois State University.

Amanda Purvis, Senior Vice President, Product Innovation

Amanda Purvis is an expert in healthcare claims cost management who specializes in managing oversight of post-payment solutions designed to identify and recover overpayments across various audit types, as well as pre-payment solutions that contribute to cost avoidance in the areas of specialty medical record audit, coordination of benefits, and itemized bill review. With more than 20 years of experience, she is an expert in designing innovative cost containment solutions and programs for commercial, Medicare Advantage, and managed Medicaid payers with the goal of delivering affordable, quality healthcare. Currently, Ms. Purvis oversees all aspects of Performant’s technology functions, project management office (PMO) services, and healthcare product innovation, pairing automation with new technologies to create new opportunities and solutions to reduce medical cost for payers and their members. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a Minor in Economics from Western Carolina University.

Alan Coulter, Vice President, Business Development & Marketing

Alan Coulter is a recognized healthcare industry expert in data mining, coordination of benefits (COB), eligibility management, and payment integrity vendor strategy. Mr. Coulter capitalizes on his significant background in both post-pay and pre-pay payment integrity programs, such as COB, subrogation, chart audit, data mining, and provider recovery efforts, to focus on creating a one-stop solution for premium restoration, medical spend prevention, and recovery operations for Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial health plans, as well as expanding Performant’s footprint as an influencer within the industry. He has more than 15 years of experience with a proven track record of double-digit, year-over-year performance improvement for the past decade. Mr. Coulter is currently focused on expanding Performant’s market share within the healthcare services space through payer, provider, and other key organizational relationships. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of English – Composition and Rhetoric from Middle Tennessee State University, as well as a Master of Business Administration – Healthcare Administration from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Taylor Culberson, Vice President, Account Management

With more than 10 years of strategic account management experience in the healthcare industry, Taylor Culberson is a results-driven professional with extensive experience cultivating long-lasting client relationships and accelerating sustainable, long-term growth across health plan accounts. She has exceptional account management skills and proven ability to transform analytics into simplistic actionable strategic objectives that deliver mutually beneficial results. Ms. Culberson is responsible for managing the Performant Account Management team, including oversight of account managers and implementation managers and development and coordination of account plans. She oversees all aspects of Performant’s service delivery, ensuring ongoing Account Management team client support, with direct responsibility for our largest key client accounts. Ms. Culberson holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Texas A&M University.

Scott Putnam, Vice President, Sales

With more than 25 years of sales experience, including 20 years within the healthcare industry, Scott Putnam is an expert in cost containment who has significant proficiency working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial health plans; insurance carriers; third-party administrators, and hospitals and medical groups. His demonstrated proficiency in solution-based sales, market and operational strategy, and building strong relationships, combined with his in-depth knowledge of Performant’s payment integrity solutions, enables Scott to grow market share, increasing sales volume and company revenue for Performant. Since 2015, Scott has led Performant’s commercial healthcare sales efforts and was instrumental in the company’s exponential growth in the commercial market. He drives sales and marketing strategies for Performant’s complex audit, data mining, MSP, Medicaid TPL, and recovery services, and leads a team of experienced sales professionals located throughout the country. Scott received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota.
